A unique development experience: our Futuresmartjourney©
An imaginary journey as an individual, team or organisation. Or literally, when we make use of our inspiring location in the green and hilly part of Middle-Italy and take you with us into nature, offer cultural experiences and enjoy what the environment has to offer. What you are looking for is everywhere around you. You just have to see it and pick it up.
In whatever way you decide to experience your journey, the approach has the same basic design. You are being challenged to let your Being Crystallize into your Doing. From a mindset in which Sustainable, Connected and Agile are at the center of your thinking.
Feel like it? So do we!
"The awakening of consciousness is the next evolutionary step for human kind"
- Eckhart Tolle -
We start with an intake and activate you in the first phase of the circle of change: selfreflection. A talent analysis is done, that provides you with insight in your talents and unconscious drivers. We discuss the results of the analysis using the detailed report and we close this phase with your defined development need.
After an intake the team members perform a talent analysis, that gives insight in the team profile. In a team debriefing we explore this profile, with the focus on natural talents and potential. The team profile and gained insights of the debriefing lead to the formulation of the team development need.
We analyse what goes on in the world around us through in depth interviews with experts from the field and research of specific information sources. These are interpreted on relevance with the stakeholders. Marco Polo guides us. "You will hear it for yourself, and it will surely fill you with wonder".
"There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, be nothing"
- Aristoteles -
The second phase of the circle of change is the gaining of awareness. Through analytical coaching you will acquire sight on the questions that lie under your development need. We explore personal themes using projections and repeating patterns, including possible suppressed or repressed experiences.
An open dialogue with each other. Interactive, deepening and challenging. What is behind the need for development? What has kept the team from experiencing this development? In which phase of development recognizes the team itself and what does that mean for the way team members behave?
What does the organisation stand for, what are the core values, the purpose? With a core team we comprehend the organisation and it's real purpose. Not afraid of holy houses. Willing to accept that things aren't always what they seem to be. Galileo Galilei helps us. Because "The Earth is not the centre of the Universe".
After the first two destinations Awaken and Deepen our "Being" has disclosed itself. Now, an evolutionary perspective is important, because nothing is set in stone. We move to our next two destinations that belong to "Crystallising": Identify and Imagine.
"Identity cannot be found or fabricated,
it comes from within if you have the courage to let go"
- Doug Cooper -
Who are you really, deep inside? What characterizes you? We enable you to reflect on your selfimage, your core values and your perfect imperfections. Nobody is perfect and accepting yourself for who you are is important. So you can say and feel "I love me, just the way I am". Your true colors are beautiful!
Safety and confidence. That requires openness, being vulnerable and being able to accept and provide respectful feedback. How does this connect to your inner norms and values ? Do you feel an outsider, or are you truly one with the team? A close-knit team is connected with each other and every team member can be who he or she is.
History, DNA and heritage. The awareness that you are passing-by in an infinite game. That provides direction and a more broad perspective. Is the organisation aligned with it's purpose? Dante Alighieri support us. "Do your duty and let the people talk". Sometimes it's necessary to go back to basics. So everyone understands again what the essence is.
"Logic takes us from A to B, imagination takes us everywhere"
- Albert Einstein -
What is your purpose? What fills you with happiness, when you look back later on? The circle of change is now about the enlargement of your decision room, this is what I stand for and this is what I go for. Apart from what you do now and how you currently lead your life. "Everything you can imagine is real" to speak with Picasso. What is your dream?
The synergy of imagination and collaboration. Embracing the magic of inclusion and diversity to find unique perspectives, brilliant ideas and original insights. How does the long term goal capture everyone's intrinsic motivation and what is the unique power and talent that the team holds in itself to achieve the long term goal?
Shedding light on the organization's purpose in the perspective of the future requires imagination and creativity. Think out-of-the-box, envision new possibilities and achieve the unthinkable. The answers are often nearby, but you have to sometimes travel far to find them. Leonardo Da Vinci guides us on our journey: "simplicity is the ultimate perfection".
Time to set yourself in motion. Because knowing who you are, what you want to achieve, what you stand for and where you want to go does not automatically take you there. We depart for the last two destinations, that belong to "Doing": Focus and Harvest.
"The energy of the sun warms the planet,
focus it through a magnifying glass and it starts a fire"
- Alan Pariser -
Focus as you do through binoculars. The environment out of sight, the goal sharp and close. Take responsibility for your development, the last phase of the circle of change. Leverage your unique talent and be alert for pitfalls. Intervene in your own behavior, practice on it and learn to use more of your authentic power.
Alike a sportsteam in a tournament that grows towards each other and supersedes itself. Demanding, learning, strengthening each other. With focus on realising a dream. The development of the team at the core, enjoying the felt and visible growth of the team. With the emphasis not on what, but on how that works.
"You can't cross the ocean, if you don't have the courage to lose sight of the shore". Christopher Columbus helps us to set our direction. Get in motion, take the first step and get into a rhythm, the right heartbeat. With a routemap and governance that provides direction and offers space for talent. And when the wind changes, be resilient and responsive.
"Good thoughts, good words, good deeds
to seed happiness and harvest peace"
- Zarathustra -
Everything comes together now. You know who you are, what you want and what you stand for. You achieve results on your way to your goal, from authentic empowerment. Your Being crystallizes more and more in your Doing. That enables you to get better, the harvest of your development. That feels good, more balanced and gives positives energy. You are more yourself.
The team is united in diversity. How does the team behave in challenging circumstances? Is the team agile, does it stay connected and keep the long term goal in sight? Challenging each other, being open for signs from outside and inside and being responsive towards these signals is of importance in this phase. And to take pride in the harvest.
The wind in the sails, heading towards the long term goal. The organisation is in flow, silently in motion, continuously developping. Like an independent organism. Sense & respond, instead of predict & control. Connected with the environment and the organisations' essence. Enjoying every outcome. Continuously adjusting, with the long term goal in sight.
Through six destinations you have completed the Futuresmartjourney©. As an individual, a team or an organisation. You are where you are, more yourself and underway to realize your long term goal. The journey continues, it's a life long development.
Because nothing is static, everything is in motion.
What lies behind us or ahead of us is nothing compared to what lies inside of us
Oliver Wendell Holmes
